The Visitors is one-night only experimental multimedia event set in a high-security corporate office building. Equipped with a system of opening and closing doors, the space is at once both isolated and penetrable, accessible for some and inaccessible to others. This multi-room audio/visual installation uses archival, original and found imagery as a catalyst to consider the workspace as a critical node in an interconnected network, superimposing meaning over the seemingly banal insignificance of daily office life. The Visitors blurs the boundaries between imagined space and corporate space, hidden space, and spaces that escape categorization. Guests will be encouraged to linger throughout the space and some will have the opportunity to experience a private encounter with the Associated Press historic film archive.
